Members’ Assembly appoints Pier Luigi Celli as new President of Associazione Italiacamp ETS

New governance elected for the 2026-2029 term

On Monday, 2 February, the Members’ Assembly of Associazione Italiacamp ETS was held at L’Opificio, during which Pier Luigi Celli was elected President for the 2026-2029 term. Celli takes over from Cristiano Panfili, who led the Association over the past three years.

A business executive and essayist, Pier Luigi Celli has served as General Director of RAI and Luiss University, and as President of ENIT, as well as holding senior leadership roles in human resources management at Eni, Olivetti, and Enel.

For Pier Luigi Celli, this is a return to the organization: as the Association’s first President, he has remained close to Italiacamp over the years as a key reference figure, inspiring actions and directions through a continuous exchange of ideas, vision and expertise. Today, in a renewed appointment made in the same spirit that has guided the organisation since its origins, he brings experience and new perspectives, in continuity with the work carried out over the past three years. This journey gained fresh momentum from 2023 onwards with the Association’s transformation into a Third Sector Entity and its registration in the RUNTS. During this three-year period, membership tripled and, thanks to collaboration with more than 150 partners – including public bodies, companies, institutions and Third Sector entities – projects and initiatives were developed involving over 5,000 beneficiaries.

The Council represents a diverse team drawing on different sectors and professional backgrounds. New members joining the Council include: Andrea Chiriatti, Director of Industrial Relations at FIPE Confcommercio, who will serve as Vice President; Ida De Sena, Regulatory Evolution, Responsible Gaming and Environment Senior Manager at Lottomatica; Massimo Lapucci, President of Egea Holding, a multi-utility company operating in the energy and environmental sector; Rossana Pasquino, Full Professor of Fundamentals of Chemical Engineering at the University of Naples Federico II and Paralympic athlete; Paola Pierri, General Director of BE for Education Foundation; Michele Rillo, Chief of Staff and Director of External Relations at Iliad; and Silvia Sorbelli, executive at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and expert in public funds for social inclusion policies, poverty prevention and tackling early school leaving.

Three members were confirmed for a new term: Giacomo Biraghi, Independent Advisor on urban strategies; Cristiana Capotondi, actress and former Head of Delegation of the Italian women’s national football team; and Matteo Smacchi, lawyer and executive at Poste Italiane.

This handover confirms the Association’s commitment to tackling the new challenges of the Third Sector with continuity and vision, strengthening initiatives focused on innovation and social inclusion, capable of generating positive impacts on people, territories and communities. Priorities include training younger generations in innovation and STEM subjects, entrepreneurship, and labour-market inclusion.
