Associazione Italiacamp 2024 Social Report

On June 25th, coinciding with the Association's 15th anniversary, the Shareholders' Meeting approved Italiacamp ETS's second Social Report.

This voluntarily prepared document recounts a year of continuity and consolidation, confirming the commitment to design and project for the future.

The approved Social Report aims not only to account for production value but also to report on the economic and social value generated for stakeholders through social innovation projects.

Projects and Generated Impact

2024 was a year of expanding the Association's reach through projects designed for and carried out with local communities. This included 10 active interventions across 9 regions with 30 partners (businesses, associations, institutions, schools). Over 2,000 beneficiaries and 66 schools were reached, and approximately 1,000 hours of training were provided on STEAM subjects, work and entrepreneurship, and European institutions. These initiatives offered educational pathways for future professions, access to new opportunities, and preparation for upcoming challenges.

This was achieved thanks to key projects such as:

  • EPAS - European Parliament Ambassador School: meetings and testimonials in schools to share the values, history, and functioning of the European Union.
  • Vivaio delle Imprese: an empowerment program to foster youth entrepreneurship and the development of socially-oriented projects in the Isernia area.
  • Non è Mai Troppo Tardi: a reskilling and upskilling program aimed at developing digital skills applied to logistics and infrastructure, and implementing soft skills useful for entering the workforce.
  • Italt and United Arab Emirates: Digital Arts as a Vehicle for Accessibility to Cultural Heritage: a project designed to promote intercultural dialogue between young Italian and Emirati artists through digital arts, with the goal of creating new connections between their respective creative communities and fostering international cooperation.
  • Materia Grigia: STEM skills training for younger generations with a focus on sustainability, also overcoming the gender bias that considers these professions and skills as purely masculine.

People at the core

In 2024, the membership base of Associazione Italiacamp saw a significant increase of almost 100% (98.9%). Currently, the Association has 201 members, both in Italy and abroad. Over two-thirds of members are under 50 years old. They represent a network capable of multiplying connections, conveying the values of Associazione Italiacamp within their territories and communities. This is where opportunities arise, and where social, economic, cultural, and environmental impact is generated with positive, tangible, and measurable results.

Building on this awareness, and thanks to the development of a series of meeting formats and initiatives, a membership plan was implemented in 2024 to explore frontier topics and promote international projects, enhancing the networking and empowerment opportunities that membership in Italiacamp can generate. This integrated offering aims to create connections with a network of entities developing high-impact social projects, to strengthen the bond between members and generate concrete impact through discussion and knowledge dissemination.

The Association's Stakeholder Engagement

Similar to last year, a stakeholder engagement process was carried out in 2024 to understand the perceptions and expectations of internal and external stakeholders regarding the Association's activities.

All impact areas identified in the three-year development plan were perceived as medium-to-high relevance by stakeholders:

  • Awareness-raising and training on internationalization, innovation, active citizenship, participation, and education.
  • Facilitation of professional network development and promotion of relational and professional opportunities.
  • Support for co-design to adequately respond to social needs.

In general, external stakeholders consider both the historically established areas of Italiacamp's action and the new directions undertaken since the end of 2023 to be significant, placing particular emphasis on network development opportunities. In this sense, the materiality matrix defined from stakeholder engagement provides the Association with important guidance for implementing activities and defining priorities for the next fiscal year, thereby fostering alignment of perceptions and expectations of internal and external stakeholders.

This also helps to overcome some differing perceptions of relevance; external stakeholders, for example, place greater relevance on action areas such as combating school dropout and educational poverty, supporting youth entrepreneurship, and empowerment and employment inclusion. These, not coincidentally, are the most project-oriented areas through which the Association engages the largest number of partners.
