The 2nd edition of the “Your Idea for the Nation” competition and the first placement of ideas in Italy competition was launched on 26 March, in the Press at Palazzo Chigi. The States General of Southern Europe, dedicated to the civil society of the seven regions of the south took place in Catanzaro on 30 June: it was a great success in terms of the number of participants (1,200) and the projects collected (700), from among which came the 15 best ideas. The States General of Central Northern Italytook place on 1 December at the University of Verona, and the event was addressed by the then Prime Minister Mario Monti. More than 1,500 participants attended the event and the competition received over 850 ideas and projects from the 13 regions involved. A panel of judges chose the two best ideas from each region (a business idea and a policy idea).
