"IDEAS THAT MOVE THE FACTS"

In 2010, during a press conference held at the offices of the Prime Minister ItaliaCamp launched the first edition of the competition, with the aim of collecting and turning ideas and proposals for the development of innovation in Italy into a reality, identifying people as a source of wisdom, ideas and solutions.

"The intention was to identify innovative ideas that would contribute to the growth of the nation and deliver tangible and concrete benefits to the community"

The process of gathering in the ideas took place online and, after they had been uploaded, the selected participants were given the opportunity to present their ideas in person at one of the four Barcamps: Rome, Lecce, Brussels and Milan.

The Competition

After every stage of the competition, a qualified scientific committee, composed of experts for each of the areas of interest, selected the 10 best ideas for each BarCamp.

At a final event, held in Palazzo Chigi, a prestigious strategic committee chose the the contest's 10 winning ideas, from the 40 that would have been worthy of being turned into a reality.

The event marked the start of the process to transform the winning ideas into reality, a task entrusted to special "project units" (so called Italy Units) that were given the job of facilitating the work on a practical level.
