Nice to meet you G7! – Opening G7allery

On Tuesday, June 20, at 11:00 am, at the Ex Manifattura Tabacchi in Cagliari, the works of the G7 Transport will be anticipated by the inauguration of the G7allery. An immersive space for the innovation of our country, which will be a synthesis of the best projects on the topic of sustainability applied to the field of infrastructure and transport, through "Nice to meet you G7!": A call for practice organized by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport with the support of ItaliaCamp.

The call, opened on March 7 and closed on May 19, registered more than 400 people and good practices; among them, the 100 most valid ones have been evaluated by a scientific committee (consisting of 12 representatives from: MIT, ANCI, Deloitte, Universities, and field experts) that has selected 7 to be exhibited in the G7allery. The exhibition will be opened to the citizens of Cagliari, Institutions, businesses, and the delegations of the G7 in the presence of the Minister Graziano Delrio.

By accessing to the G7allery It will be possible to learn new ways of conceiving infrastructure such as Greenrail: an eco-sustainable railway track made from recycled materials, and Ribes Tech: a photovoltaic film that can power any object on which is applied. Future navigation systems such as Marioway will also be presented: an electric hands-free segway with multiple benefits for both disabled people and those who use it for indoor areas, Bike +: an integrated kit that is able to turn any bicycle into an electric one and capable of transforming the movement of the bicycle into energy for the batteries, and OSVehicle: the open source car that can be built in an hour directly in your home. Finalists also aim at the development of solidarity processes with the Carpooling@UniMe: with a carpooling network based on a virtual-currency that also provides funding to support different charity causes. In addition, attention is paid to the new generations and citizens thanks to Climb: an IoT system that monitors and helps children to reach school through piedibus.

They are going to be the ambassadors of the Italian innovation presented to the G7 Transport, in which – for the first time for an event organized by the Ministry - it will opened to good practices, citizen’s proposals, the visions of large corporations - ANAS, Autostrade per l’Italia, Cluster Trasporti, Deloitte, IBM, Invitalia, Fiat Chrysler, Ferrovie dello Stato, Iveco, Mercedes - with support of Agenzia del Demanio, Anci, ANG, CRUI and Fondazione di Sardegna; everything under the sponsorship of the Italian presidency of the G7 the Region of Sardinia and the City of Cagliari.
