BARCAMP

The Model

ItaliaCamp successfully connects institutions, academia, companies and people through an innovative model that allows stakeholders to exchange ideas and participate in the discussion of issues of global importance. This model benefits not only from new technologies now available, but also succeeds in adapting new tools – including the BarCamp model: a synergic “non-conference” tool of American origin, that allows each participant to make his/her own contribution while at the same time ensuring that nobody is left on the sidelines.

USACamp

The 2014 edition of “Your Idea for the Country” had a more global dimension: the 20 most promising ideas, identified by ICA with the help of an international panel drawn from Universities, research centers and the business world, won the possibility to participate in an international roadshow in the United States.

From the 25th of February to the 4th of March 2014, a delegation of 100 Italian representatives participated to USACamp. During the first BarCamp ever to be held in the trading floor of the New York Stock Exchange and thematic Global Executive Seminars organised in New York and Washington, the top innovative ideas “made and brained in Italy” were presented to institutions, companies and international investors.

GOOD IDEAS LANGUISH AND OFTEN GO UNIDENTIFIED. ITALIACAMP CUTS THE TIME BETWEEN THEIR BIRTH AND CONCRETE IMPLEMENTATION

Some Fun Fact
  1. 20alle20

You can read it "venti alle venti" and it can be translated into "twenty at 8 pm". It was the name of the first group of friends that gave birth to ICA. They were a group of 20 people that met each Tuesday at 8 pm

  2. Award

For the high social value of the project and the relevance of the results achieved, ICA was awarded the "Premio Alta Rappresentanza" by the President of the Republic, Giorgio Napolitano

  3. We love to travel

Since we started our activities in 2009, we traveled across Italy and Europe and recently all over the world several times. We estimate that we covered, all together, a distance equal to four times the circumference of the earth

  4. Palindromo

Our interpretation of the Palindrome is a text with a negative meaning if red from top towards the bottom that becomes positive from the bottom to the top. It is our video manifesto and it's always written, and edited, the night before a major event

EUROPEAN BARCAMP

OBJECTIVES

The main goal of the event is to construct an European network of social innovators to tread a social innovation trajectory, useful for the development of new projects. The barcamp is the occasion for discussing on future trends of Social Innovation, mutual learning, exploring new opportunities and building a platform for cooperation on innovative projects and initiatives. Every barcamp session includes the presentation of best practices and/or projects by the keynote speakers followed by an open debate and discussion among the participants

SESSION

The barcamp is divided into three thematic sessions. Speakers participate in the three sessions according to their activities/expertise. Every guest is invited to participate and intervene in the three sessions, but he/she will be a keynote speaker in only one of the three, depending on the theme and the project presented. Every barcamper can take the floor and interact with the speakers
